GREEN ON QUEENSBURY: THE NEW GREEN NECKLACE TRAIL AIMS TO CREATE ACCESSIBILITY AND CONNECTION
Exciting new beginnings are on the horizon for residents in North Vancouver. The City announced the approval of The Green Necklace project set to provide residents with increased accessibility to parks, daycare, community facilities and more on December 4th, 2017. The 7.5 km cycling/walking path will span from Lonsdale Avenue at West 21st to Grand Boulevard at East 19th. Totaling $3.23 million, this project will compliment transit routes and the city’s plan to promote greenway systems.
Serving as a connection between the upper and lower neighborhood, this distinguishing feature is central to the project . In addition, landscape character zones visible to residents using the Green Necklace will include Greenwood Park Entrance, New Evergreen Forest, Thicketed Hillside and Grand Boulevard Gateway. Project timeline completion is set for Spring 2018.
